Film shooter based out of St. Louis, MO. Initially exposed to film in the late ‘70s/early ‘80s watching my older siblings (4 older, 1 younger) do their high school photography homework in our basement darkroom that our Dad built. The days of Fixer & Foghat. Like many younger siblings who admire their brothers/sisters, I followed in their footsteps taking photography in high school and a course or two in college. I still have and use that same Omega C700 enlarger, works fine.
Fascinated by the live chemical reactions of film and the direct, physical connection and reaction between the moment, the photographer and the viewer. Like your first childhood crush or when someone tells you they love you, those live chemical responses/reactions make you happy, make life wonderful and fulfilling and make film so very very special. And yes, it’s also very cool to watch that image emerge out the developer.
I develop and print my B&W shots by hand and am currently shooting a Hasselblad 500 C/M, Pentax 67II, Mamiya C220, Polaroid SX-70 and Fuji Instax 210.
Other things I'm passionate about: cycling, adventures, music, good people and good fun.
