Jojo Blöndal

Analog photography won my heart when I inherited a Ricoh Singlex 35mm. Returning to shoot manually and letting go of instant outcome immediately felt like home. It took me back to the bare bones of image making and I was able to breathe it in again. I’m still learning. And I am still finding my voice and style. But I am ever so grateful for the renewed perspective that film offers, and find myself continually falling in love with each roll.

I am drawn to capture things I see momentarily, from my day-to-day routine and surroundings to slices of life and the in-between. Recording life, raw and unrefined, is appealing. We live among perfectionism and are surrounded by "high definition" everything. I am interested in the opposite: the unedited ebb and flow of my days, where I find comfort and ease and even humor. My work is mostly about my life. And life is my Inspiration.
