Timothy Brown

I am a graduate student trying to earn a Ph.D. in philosophy at the University of Washington—I study philosophy of art and the philosophy of science.

When my digital Pentax died after 8 years of use and many adventures, I decided that only digital-analogue hybrid techniques could give me the kind of quality and expressively I desired. I picked up an old Pentax MX, some darkroom equipment from a garage sale, and a roll of Tri-X—and I couldn't have been happier. It has been an superb year of experimentation and discovery, and I owe it all to film photography.

See more of my film photography on Flickr, visit my blog, and follow me on Twitter.
