I think I've always been very visually aware, I've always noticed the subtleties in my surroundings. Lines, angles, shapes, the way light dances across the ground through a canopy of trees. Finding photography really allowed me to understand, appreciate and articulate what I was seeing.
I am a huge advocate of raw visual impact, I truly believe, as cliched as it sounds, that a picture is worth a thousand words. A good picture needs no explanation, it can take you to another place, make you think, make you feel.
I draw inspiration from everything; those that are close to me, other photographers, visual media, music, random conversations, a fleeting reflection in a puddle. I've climbed mountains at 3am just to get caught in a blizzard, crossed frozen rivers, dangled off the edges of cliffs, waded chest deep through muddy bogs, all to create that one moment in time where everything falls into place.
I love what I do.
