Home is a strange word, and I think for most people it’s a word that only gets stranger with time. It’s something we lose and find over and over, and each time it takes on new form and life. I’ve known empty broken homes like Jacqueline Bernal’s ‘Haunted House’. I’ve known perfect cookie cutter homes like Mike Freeland’s ‘Where to Bury Me’, with not a blade of grass or smile out of place. But more than a place, home is a particular feeling that I hope we’re all lucky enough to find and keep, a place of joy and solace. Brittany Rolfs’ little yellow house captures that feeling perfectly for me, it looks so lived-in and inviting; I can just smell the fresh bread and coffee drifting out from the windows and see the children running through the yard. Thank you all again for your wonderful submissions, and I look forward to seeing your photos next month.
