Jocelyn Mathewes

I’m Jocelyn–mixed-media interdisciplinary artist living in the hills of Appalachia in east Tennessee. I make solar-powered art, document genuine moments for real people, and am mother to three tiny humans.

I've been making images since I was 12, and have had a creative career as a photographer and graphic designer since I was 20. I've been documenting celebrations, people, and families for over a decade. In my artmaking, I freely use alternative processes (especially cyanotype), films, and digital interchangeably. My analog photographs are made with a combination of negatives, contact printing, paper, and textiles.
