I tend to compose in a minimalist fashion & my personal work is centred in finding disquiet and unease in the still. I’m trying to slow my work down, to reconnect with that something that just doesn’t seem to be there within the digital medium, which is how I have found my way back to film photography.
Living in the heart of Yorkshire in the UK, my work is predominantly landscape but I’m currently exploring portraiture and in particular, the collaboration between photographer and subject.
I have a lot of nostalgia for the analogue processes of shooting, processing and printing the final image and work in 35mm, Medium & Large formats.
The more you put in, the more you get out. At least that’s what my mother used to say...
